A Praise Report

Last evening, Jan 28, I, and my wife Ann, had the pleasure of attending a truly ‘Gala’ event at the Ramada Inn in Topeka, KS. It was the Sixth Annual KRA banquet. There were approximately 450+ members attending who have identified ourselves as the Republican wing of the Republican party. What a joy to be in a body of believers and to know the Lord was in attendance as well!

Ruth Hanke sang The Star Spangled Banner in a truly unique and beautiful rendition. I have heard a great number of sundry renditions but none as fine as this. Jake Schmidt and his friend sang two stirring evangelical songs during a delightful and delicious dinner of Chicken Cordon Blue, my compliments to the Chef. Following this magnificent experience, Rev. Terry Fox and Rev. Joe Wright delivered the opening prayers, definitely setting the tone and course for the remainder of the evening. The Holy Spirit moved through the awards ceremonies as numerous people were recognized for their untiring efforts in awakening the voters to bring back the true spirit of being a republican, the solid conservative economic and social principles championed by Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. I was truly amazed at the many hours and considerable effort that many have given toward returning the moral climate of the party to a level of respectability.

Last, but certainly not least, the guest speaker for the evening was David Limbaugh (brother of Rush Limbaugh). David is the author of “Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War Against Christianity.” David is a legal expert and spoke on the “de-Christianization of America,” the current marriage amendment debate, judicial activism, Christians getting involved in politics, and more. His message was exciting, enlightening, and timely indeed.

I was disappointed, but not surprised, to note the absence of Representative Don Hill and Senator James Barnett, both of whom really needed to have heard this message. The voting records of both Hill and Barnett will be watched very closely for future reference in forthcoming elections, count on it!
